You’ll never rise to the occasion!
What do you mean I will never rise to the occasion, surely in the right circumstances with my back against the wall or a big enough prize, I would step up?
And step up you may, but is that enough to win the day?
You see we do not rise to an occasion but fall to the level of our training and if we are not training to continuously get better, then someone else is. And you know what that means… they will win.
Because we do chiropractic day in and day out, we never stop to think about training. We think to ourselves, ‘I’ve been doing this long enough’, ‘every time I adjust it is training’.
But let’s flip it, how often do you see patients who have just slipped into bad habits with their health, unaware and thinking they are doing ok? Loads right!
Well, the same may be true for you, and it was indeed for me until I started to teach and therefore had to step up.
When was the last time you reviewed the anatomy of the spine, visualised what your adjustment is doing? When did you last explore the philosophy of chiropractic and as yourself, why am I doing this adjustment?
Beyond that, when did you last do training with your team? When did you last review the financials of your business.
There are many trails and difficult times in running a chiropractic practice, not just in adjusting and working with patients. So when those tough times come, are you ready?
Here is my suggestion to you.
Audit, yes I said it. Audit your entire business once a month. And here are some examples of what I mean.
1. Income
2. Fixed and Variable costs
3. Patient Visit Average
4. Conversion rate
5. Team KPI (key performance indicators)
6. Patient notes and image scoring (if use x-ray)
Create a simple check list and each month take note of where you are and identify where you could do some more training.
Train to be the best, and you will become the best.
With love,
Tom
