Are you obsessed?

Obsession, this is a word that can polarise opinions and bring up an array of emotions in people.
Obsessed about work, obsessed about what you eat, obsessed about a person/relationship, whatever it is, you will find people using the word ‘obsessed’ as a derogatory term.

I disagree wholeheartedly and I want to show you how being obsessed really is necessary for you to be successful. Obsession is all about being devoted and committed to a particular task, so much that it is a priority above all else in that moment of your life.

So let’s think about success. Success is up to you how you chose to define it. It could be wealth and finances, earning over £1 million, it could be more time with your family, or it could be a certain number of patients per week that you see. Regardless, we all have a different view or opinion of success and therefore before we begin the topic of obsession, let’s first think about success.

So, my first question for you is; what does success look like? If you and I were to sit down for a coffee in a cute corner of Nice, France in April of 2024 and you had achieved your wildest dreams, what would you be describing to me? What would your life be like now?

Take this view of success and then ask yourself, how do you get there? Do you just think about it, do you spend all day and all week planning it, do you put in the work?

The truth is you have to do all of that!

To really achieve the success you want in life, you must first dream it, really imagine what it is like. Most of us don’t dare to dream for fear of failing or being disappointed.

Once you have that dream, then you need to plan it. And again, a lot of people fail to do this out of confusion or overwhelm. Planning can be easy; you simply need to start with the end in mind and work backwords. (If this is something you struggle with, then this is what I master with my One on One clients, Just Saying…).

Then only after you have the dream and the plan do you now need to go to work. Yes, you actually have to work to make it happen, consistently, day after day. Not Monday to Friday, not 9 to 5. But day after day…

Sound obsessive?

Well, yes it is!

My reason for writing this for you this week is that I have come across a lot of chiropractors recently who have reached out to me saying they are stuck, in exactly the same position as they were years ago, they have been to the courses and workshops in the profession, they have got hyped up, changed aspects of marketing and their practice, but nothing changes on the bottom line.

Why?

Because they didn’t change!

I am here to tell you, your dream, your vision of wanting more is the right dream and vision, you should be wildly successful, you should have a thriving practice, great health, wonderful relationships and an abundance of money. But guess what?

It starts with you, you becoming obsessed with what you want.

Time to go to work. I’m here for you.

With love,

Tom
