Did you forget the work?
Winning is simple, but it is not easy. I have said this many times. However, I still get a lot of people come to observe me or consult with me on how to improve their practice, asking what they need to implement, buy, or say that will make their practice thrive.
Unfortunately, this is the wrong starting point. Just tweaking the plan, buying new systems, starting new scripts can all help. But they are not transformative.
What really transforms a practice, and a business is ‘the work’. How hard are you working to make it happen?
And I know you all ask for the ‘stuff’ to make life easier and work less, but I have some truth for you. It takes work to make life easy.
Twofold:
1. Once you put the work in, you create the processes and build the team, then you can rest. But only once you perfected this.
2. Once you put the work it, and do this for long enough, it no longer seems like work.
And in fact, point 2 is the main reason you see successful people enjoying life. It is not because they got lucky or built something where they can work less.
It is because they fell in love with the work and understand what it takes to win.
So, this week, I want you to stop kidding yourself about the level of work you are doing, and I want you to decide what level of winning you really want?
Then consider who in your space is winning like that and get around them, acclimatise to the work and enjoy the wins.
With love,
Tom
