Do you realise the impact you are ALREADY making?

This last month I said goodbye to a great friend and colleague Dr Criss Partridge, an incredible man. He was caring, loving, light-hearted and a REAL servant leader. Criss had the practice everyone wanted, full of thriving patients, people who really got the chiropractic message and who told others about it. As their servant Criss gave everything he had each day to his patients and his family and friends. As their leader he bravely told the truth and kept them accountable.

So this week I wanted to honour Criss and see what we may take from his example. You see he always wanted to lead the profession, teach, and share his message around the world. Little did he know that by being the example, that is exactly what he was doing, day in and day out.

Are you taking stock each week of the impact you are having are you getting too caught up in the future to reflect and think of the amazing service you are giving your people?

The natural by-product of being a servant leader is a huge impact, a legacy and meaning to your life. To be a servant leader means to be in service of your community, be humble to help others and not sing your praises in return. To be the leader is to set and example, boldly speak the truth, and hold your people accountable to that which you know will help them.

Here is my check list for servant leadership, how do you compare?

1.       You are dedicated to your people and service over financial gain.

2.       You find it easy to say yes when you are called to help.

3.       You praise the person you are serving ahead of yourself.

4.       You serve something greater than yourself.

5.       You set the example for what it is you deliver your service on.

6.       Your hold yourself accountable to that standard.

7.       You boldly tell the truth and do not fear the naysayers.

8.       You hold your people accountable to bettering themselves.

Let’s all take an example from Criss, think today how you could be more like him.

Criss your time here was used well; you changed the lives of thousands of people. And in the words of BJ Palmer, “You never know how far reaching something you may think, say or do will affect the lives of millions tomorrow.”

With love

Tom
