It is impossible to be fully booked.
It is true, aiming to be fully booked in practice is a fruitless task, it simply does not work. You may have experienced this before, your diary is getting busier and busier and soon the white space (free appointment slots) starts to disappear until one evening you look at your next day and wow! It is fully booked.
You rock up for that shift, full of energy and excitement to serve, head down for the day you give it your best. But when the day is over you look back and see quite a few people did not show or cancelled their appointments that day?
Why is this the case?
Well, the universe likes space. It does not like to be compressed. Just think about the planets and the stars, it is said that they are always moving apart? What!? How is that possible? To where? Into what? Questions for Brian Cox, but nonetheless the universe simple does not like to be confined.
The same is true for your diary. Growth and expansion can only move into space, therefore when there is white space in your diary you will see it grow. When the white space fills and you become ‘fully booked’ your numbers will drop.
The simple rule here is 80%. You can only fill up to 80% of your total diary space and remain active there. For example, if you have 100 visits available per week, your ‘energetic capacity’ is 80 visits per week, not 100.
If you want to grow your practice and increase the numbers you take care of, then you need to first increase the white space. Think to yourself how many visits a week do you want. Then add 20% to that. This is the number of available visit slots you need in your diary.
Example:
You wish to see 120 adjustments per week.
20% of 120 is 24.
Therefore your total visit slots needed in the dairy is 144.
Be sure to monitor this regularly, especially if you are focusing on growing your practice.
