Just do the first 5 minutes
You know when you really DON’T want to do something, it could be sitting down to write your blog for the week (haha guess what I’m thinking), it could be going for a run, calling a client, cooking meals for the week…
Whatever it is, we all get those moment of ‘I can not be bothered’, you convince yourself to put it off and it can wait. Then a few months later you’re left wondering why others are leaving you behind or you’re struggling to get the work done.
It’s obvious isn’t it, you know you cut the corners, you know you should have put the effort in. but when we are in that funk, it really is hard to get out!
So here is my quick and simple tip for you, set the clock to 5 minutes and simply commit to doing JUST 5 minutes of the task you are putting off, not ten, not twenty, not even an hour. Just five minutes.
Then the magic happens, by the time you hit 5 minutes, you’ll be in your groove, your dreams of ice cream and Netflix will be a distant memory and you will willingly continue to completion.
So, there you have it, a simple Wednesday message for you all, because I know you have ALL got five minutes in you!
