Nurture your Relationships

If you want to have any form of success in life, be that in business, relationships, finances or spirituality, forming and deepening relationships is key.

For me I think one of the biggest keys to a successful business is the community that is created, both internally and externally. As such working on nurturing the individuals will cultivate and lead to a fantastic and thriving community.

So practically, what does that mean?

Nurture is the process of staying engaged with the people around you and continuing to add value to their lives. You see we only keep our relationships going, be that business or personal, if they are adding value to us. Therefore, you need to constantly be nurturing your community and providing value. Here are the two key ways to do that.

1.       Planned Nurture

This is the process of having scheduled points of interaction or content delivery to give to your community.

Examples can be a regular email or newsletters providing information, entertainment and overall value.
It can be a CRM (automatic software) system set up to trigger emails throughout their journey with you, welcoming them at the start, applauding them in the middle and thanking them towards the end of their time with you.
The CRM can also be set up to trigger you to give the individual a phone call and a personal check in.
Celebrating birthdays and mile stone throughout your service timeline can also be a key way to show your value.

Setting up automation can save time and money in the process of nurturing your relationships but the personal and person to person interaction can not be underestimated and maximum effort should be made to integrate this with your automation.

2.       Spontaneous Nurture

I like to refer to this as the art of giving a shit.

It involved a conscious and a constant awareness of your relationships, their interests, and their lives. How can you demonstrate and show that you care beyond any competitor? Because as soon as you stop caring, someone else will, and they will move on.

Ideas to be aware of are promotions at work, moving house, success in a life event such as a weight loss goal. For each of these, show your admiration and caring, write a simple card, it goes a long way. If your relationship individual has a play or a show, consider going to show your support.

Through all of these efforts, you become known as the person who genuinely cares, and through doing so, if you don’t already, you will actually become the person who cares the most.

People will talk about this in a good way and your community will grow and thrive.

Go on, give it a go!

With love
