Out of Office is Terrifying
If you are anything like me, the thought of an out of office email and time off is terrifying. The fear of losing momentum and missing opportunities is enough to keep me working until my eyes are red and my speech losing comprehension.
Well I exaggerate a little but I still to this day get anxiety in switching off. Sarah and I often plan ahead of our holiday what exciting new opportunities and creative business ideas we can plan while away. Never really allowing for a full switch off.
Now I think this is great but sometimes you need to put the breaks on. You need to jump out of the daily norm and reset. You know when you are so caught up in work you fail to see both the positive and the solutions to the issues in front of you.
Like the slingshot analogy that I am so fond of. The further you pull back, the further it will shoot.
So, I have a simple challenge for you this week. Switch off. Stop. Pause. Break.
Take time to step away from it all and come back with a new perspective, fire, and enthusiasm.
