Reconnect with the input.
This past weekend was the Chiropractic Essentials event in Birmingham, UK. A really great event for UK chiropractors showcasing some of the best in the world and a home for some brilliant discussions and connections with peers.
I always go to these events with the intention of taking just one piece of content home with me, too often we try to take so many notes and change too many variables, therefore I prefer to find one theme or point the sticks and use it in practice the following week.
Well, this weekend there was one obvious theme. Most eloquently put by Dr Gilles Lamarche;
“Give with no expectation of return.”
Very often in my practice and my other businesses I am focused on the outcome and that causes me to occasionally lose sight of the input. Thoughts of what will I get from this, how can I measure the success and impact, all of which is important. But none of that will come without exceptional input, essentially give all I can with no expectation of return.
Knowing that the universe always reciprocates, it always provides to those who give. Therefore, understanding this truth, if you purely focus on the give, you will receive. The outcome will take care of itself.
So, my commitment to the end of the year (enough time to make habit) is to constantly look for new and creative ways in my practice that I can give more.
More talks.
More phone calls.
More information and outreach.
More deeply connected with each adjustment.
And my question to you is, what can you commit to, how can you give more, how can you lead your community?
Give, the simple and effective way to your legacy.
With love,
Tom
