Are you going for a legacy or a hobby?
The beaty of chiropractic is we get to choose how we do it. We get to decide what style of practice we have, who we wish to serve, our opening hours, and how much we charge.
Come on, this is awesome! I can’t think of many jobs with the same amount of satisfaction that have such diverse opportunities.
But there is one other thing we all get to choose. And that is if we are aiming for a legacy or a hobby?
Legacy - an impact from your work that fundamentally changes a community and is felt beyond your lifetime.
Hobby - a job that fits around your lifestyle.
I am not here to judge, I coach chiropractors on both sides of the fence, I know I am here for a legacy. But part of that legacy is to help you achieve your dreams.
And if I had to teach you today just ONE thing that is essential for BOTH legacy and hobby, this is it.
Be undeniably great.
You simply must be the BEST in town. This is obvious for a legacy, to leave a mark and change lives you need to be extraordinary, think different, and be undeniably good at what you do.
But the same is true for a hobby. If you want to set your hours, work less, and enjoy life. This is only possible if patients are prepared to ‘wait for you’, to come at time that work for you and not them. And with competition in the market, they will go elsewhere unless YOU are undeniably great.
And here are your THREE ESSIANTAILS to becoming undeniably great.
1. Self-confidence.
First and foremost, you must believe in you. This is not something are born with or not. This is developed through hard work and discipline. Exercise, learning, growing, doing disciplined actions to make yourself better and sticking to them is the only way to cultivate confidence. And your confidence is perceived as competence by your patients, leading you to being undeniably great.
2. Training and practice.
This should not even need saying, but how often are you training, what coaching group are you part of? Who is your mentor? Where is your tribe you train with? If that does not exist, join a group and get around those people.
3. Associations.
Who are you hanging out with. Greatness or excuses. People who push you forward or tear your down. Real winners want to see other winners win! Hang around with those people.
It is simple, you have a choice, and you have the potential. Reach for greatness today.
With love,
Tom
