What is the fastest way to success?
We all want to accelerate our way to our goals, to learn form others and achieve our dreams in the fastest time possible. With that desire and abundance of knowledge, mentors and resources out there, why do we often fail in our attempts?
The answer is quite simple, the false economy that comes with accelerated growth cause us to fall into the roller coaster of perceived success. On the up and abundant one minute and scrambling to gain traction and make payroll the next.
The reason for this is clear. The foundations upon which the business was built were not strong enough, the mental toughness of the leader and team, the systems and processes were too weak and under the stress they break down.
However, if you spend time to get the foundations right, test them, re-test, train and solidify. Then you really can accelerate your success from that point forward, and this time it will be lasting and compounding. This is where you see incredible businesses come out of nowhere. All of a sudden, they are thriving and continue to do so. The fact is though, they didn’t just come out of nowhere, they had been patiently working away and building their foundations and once set, growth started and then they became noticed.
So that is all good said, but how it is done?
Here are what I consider the key foundations to building, growing, and sustaining a thriving and profitable chiropractic practice. And as you read these, if there are any missing in your business, I would strongly suggest pausing and working on them now.
1. Self Confidence
Personal development is the very underpinning of your whole business, if you have not worked on yourself then everything you build is on rocky foundations.
A simple formula is that: ‘our thoughts drive our beliefs, our beliefs drive our feelings, our feelings drive our actions and actions dictate outcomes.’
So, if you jump right into action without working on the thoughts, it’s a rocky path.
Take the time to work on you first.
2. Adjusting Skills
A business does not exist to make money; it exists for one purpose only. To solve the customers problem.
If your skills are not good enough to get consistent results, then how can you expect repeat custom and referral?
Work hard on your skills daily and train regularly on you own and at courses.
3. Day 1 / Day 2 procedures
This is the first exposure any customer will have to your business, it is the key relationship builder and the foundation for a lifetime customer.
Scripts, team and clinical procedures all need to be set and tested. These help you to stay focused when times are tough and gain predictable results.
4. Team Culture
Managing a team is the toughest thing in business bar nothing! Learning how to work with and manage a team is essential. All procedures and in house tasks depend on team culture and values.
If you do not have a current set of values, work to develop them and then integrate them into the workspace every day.
Some of these steps I am sure you have solid and are working well, but I would also suggest that there are some that could do with improvement.
Be strong and be humble enough to consider where your weakness is and find the person who can help you overcome them.
You deserve to thrive; I know you can. I’m here for you.
With love,
Tom
