You are only as strong as your weakest link.
This past weekend we went to visit our dear friends Kelly and Liam up in their new home in Carlisle. We decided to book into a lovely boutique hotel and enjoy a couple of nights there whilst spending time with them during the day.
We arrived at a stunning lakeside style building with a wonderful welcome and a beautifully finished room, including a shower with four heads!
That night we were having dinner out, our plan was to have dinner at their quaint restaurant with excellent write ups, the evening after. To cut the long story short, the next morning we had our breakfast at the hotel, and what a disappointment.
Quite frankly, the breakfast was shocking, something more of a Weather Spoons that a 5-star boutique hotel. This left a bitter taste in our mouth, and as such we decided to head home a night early.
So what’s the lesson?
You are only as strong as your weakest link.
Let’s have a think about your practice, what are you great at, what do you know you deliver above and beyond on?
Now, let’s have a think about all the other stuff. What are your toilets like, is the loo roll soft or scratchy. Are the chairs people wait on comfy, are the walls freshly painted, is the greeting consistent? Think from the customers viewpoint.
What is your place really like under the surface?
Spend time this week to inspect that, find the chinks in the chains and do not fall to the weakest link.
With love,
Tom
